Overview

Join Virginia Housing and help make a difference as a Sr. Executive Assistant.

This important role is responsible for management of the Chief of Programs’ schedule, calendar, public appearances, speeches, travel, etc. The position also assists the Chief Executive Officer with correspondence, records, metrics, administrative processes and workflow and serves as a backup to the Assistant to the CEO. This is a high profile and influential position that requires a combination of discretion, focus and flexibility, as well as a willingness to play an active, behind-the-scenes role. This position reports to the Chief of Staff and works closely with the Executive Leadership Team, specifically, the Chief Executive Officer, Chief of Staff and Chief of Programs. This position interacts with state officials, external stakeholders, the Board of Commissioners, senior management and associates at all levels of Virginia Housing.

To be successful in this role you must possess:

  • Associate’s degree in business administration and/or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Several years’ (4+ preferred) experience in providing administrative support to executive level staff.
  • Proven track record of handling confidential and sensitive matters with the utmost discretion.
  • Knowledge of what the head of an organization needs to be effective and ability to make it happen.
  • Able to thrive and succeed in a fast-paced, changing environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities.
  • Able to remain calm and level-headed during times of crisis or confusion.
  • Experience managing multiple projects in a dynamic environment and able to work effectively under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Able to work with multiple personalities and styles of senior-level management in a collaborative way that is focused on business priorities.
  • Effective problem solving, issue escalation and conflict management.
  • High proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • This position requires incumbents to drive for Virginia Housing business purposes. Therefore, incumbents must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and adhere to the standards set forth in the motor vehicle related Administrative regulations and Human Resources policies as a condition of continued employment.

The ideal candidate would also have knowledge of Virginia Housing’s priorities, goals and objectives to aid in decision making.

Hiring Range $71,000 - $96,500

A background screening and driving record check will be performed as a condition of employment.
