Overview

Join Virginia Housing and help make a difference as an Associate Tax Credit Allocation Officer.

This position supports the allocation of Federal LIHTC and State HOTC programs for Virginia Housing. Collaborates with stakeholders on Qualified Allocation Plan (QAP) updates and reviews LIHTC applications using financial and underwriting analyses to rank and assess feasibility. Conducts Subsidy Layering Reviews and serves as a visible program resource. Engages year-round with developers, non-profits, architects, engineers, and other partners, providing strong customer service throughout the Commonwealth.

To be successful in this role you must possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, real estate, land use planning, or related field; or equivalent work experience
  • General knowledge of affordable housing and the LIHTC program, community development, land-use planning principles, and rental housing markets
  • A few years of professional experience performing a variety of work assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret real estate documents
  • Skilled in presentations, stakeholder engagement, conflict resolution, and decision-making
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and Adobe Acrobat
  • Travel required within the State. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and comply with Virginia Housing’s motor vehicle and HR policies as a condition of employment

 

The ideal candidate would also have experience with LIHTC policies and procedures in Virginia.

 

This role will report to our Innsbrook office in Glen Allen, VA.

Hiring Range: $82,000 - $111,000
