This dynamic and fast-paced role will serve as a thought partner, trusted advisor, and project manager for strategic and operational initiatives across the agency’s programmatic areas. This individual will champion on behalf of the Chief of Programs helping to cultivating relationships, prioritizing strategic and operational goals, develop key performance indicators and regularly assess performance against metrics.
The Associate Chief will support the Chief of Programs in the oversight of Virginia Housing’s portfolio of programs, activities, and related services, bringing together multiple stakeholders and helping to drive decisions. They will effectively steward resources to support these programs and provide support, guidance, and professional development opportunities to leadership staff in the programmatic areas. This position will be responsible for identifying areas of focus and the development of metrics and key performance indicators for success. The role will also be responsible for monitoring information flow, sometimes acting as a gatekeeper, ensuring the Chief’s involvement in a project or decision-making process at the right moment. They will review detailed reports and provide analysis of information through written briefs as well as create presentations and talking points for the Chief. Stay abreast of developments in affordable housing program creation and implementation at the federal, state, and local levels. This position reports to the Chief of Programs, a member of the senior leadership team. The Associate Chief may have the opportunity to attend conferences, business meetings and events such as ground breakings and grand openings across the Commonwealth of Virginia and DC.

Hiring Range: $122,839 - $159,689
