Overview

Join Virginia Housing and help make a difference as an Administrative Assistant in our Homeownership Division.

This important role reports to the Managing Director of Homeownership and provides administrative support to the Homeownership Division.  The Administrative Assistant manages the Managing Director’s calendar, including scheduling meetings, prioritizing appointments, and handling potential conflicts.  The role assists with the preparation and coordination of departmental and divisional meetings, including agenda development and material distribution, and project facilitation, ensuring projects within the division are kept on track and milestones and deadlines are met.  The role is also responsible for preparing and editing correspondence, reports, and presentations for executive-level meetings, facilitation of executive team meetings, preparing minutes and following up on action items.  Handling sensitive information with discretion and professionalism is paramount.

To be successful in this role you must possess:

  • High school diploma or GED (Associate’s degree preferred).
  • A few years of experience in an administrative support role. 
  • Experience supporting executive level professionals preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel).
  • Experience creating engaging and visually appealing presentations with creative design.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience drafting communications for senior leadership.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Experience with project facilitation.
  • Experience planning and organizing large scale departmental meetings.
  • Strong organization skills and able to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Experience utilizing virtual platforms (Webex, Zoom, MS Teams).
  • Experience using email marketing software such as Constant Contact is preferred.

Hiring Range: $53,109 – $69,041
