This role will support varying business units consisting of multiple functions, which could include, but are not limited to, stakeholder and government relations, constituent inquiries, housing policy, research and data analytics, organizational development, strategic planning, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), and general management of varying business functions at Virginia Housing. The division works directly with our internal teams to shape, drive, and support the mission and operational goals of Virginia Housing. This position could also assist the team in conducting research, performing analysis, generating reports, and supporting business operations. This position may support other staff members internally, as needed. This position will be an entry-level internship position. ​ 

To be successful in this role you must possess:

  • Participate in opportunities to learn about affordable housing and the business of Virginia Housing by shadowing subject matter experts, reading, and engagement in the business.
  • Contributes to a positive and motivating team environment.
  • Executing team deliverables as needed with great attention to detail.
  • Participates in training sessions, shadows subject matter experts, and reads appropriate documentation to gain an understanding of day-to-day processes and the technologies that support them.
  • Supports and participates in the development and ongoing maintenance of department documentation.
  • Participates in department-related data validation and manipulation for testing, system integration, and report generation.
  • ​Upholds the high standards of Virginia Housing.
  • ​Works on various tasks in alignment with Virginia Housing’s strategic plan, goals, and objectives.

 

This is a hybrid position reporting to our Richmond, VA office.  Interns can work up to 20 hours per week. During the Summer months (June – August) interns can work up to 40 hours per week.
