Overview

Join Virginia Housing and help make a difference as an Administrative Assistant within our Executive Division.   

This important role provides administrative support for the Executive division and our most senior leaders.  The Administrative Assistant deals with a diverse group of important external callers and visitors as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to typing, filing and scheduling, and duties such as financial record keeping, coordination of meetings and conferences, obtaining supplies, coordinating direct mailings, and working on special projects.

Independent judgment is needed to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload and recommend changes in office practices or procedures. A high degree of confidentiality and discretion are key to success in this role.

To be successful in this role you must possess:

  • High school diploma or GED (Associate’s degree preferred).
  • Several years of experience (5+ preferred) supporting executive level professionals.
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to anticipate needs and take initiative to solve problems.

 

The ideal candidate would also have an understanding of housing organizations and how they work closely together and be comfortable working with government agencies at the city, county or state level, preferred.

 Hiring Range: $53,109 - $69,041
