Overview

Join Virginia Housing and help make a difference as an Associate Tax Credit Allocation Officer.

This position supports allocation activities related to the Federal Low Income Housing Tax Program (LIHTC) and the State’s Housing Opportunity Tax Credit (HOTC) for Virginia Housing. The role relies on highly interactive stakeholder collaboration surrounding changes to the Qualified Allocation Plan (QAP). The position reviews LIHTC applications using various financial and underwriting techniques, in order to determine the rankings for selection and feasibility. This role will also be responsible for conducting Subsidy Layering Reviews.

This position is expected to be a visible reference in administering portions of the LIHTC program throughout the year. Individuals in this role routinely work with developers, non-profits, architects, engineers and other business partners throughout the Commonwealth and must provide strong customer service at all times.

To be successful in this role you must possess:

  • A broad understanding of affordable housing, the policies shaping it and the role of the LIHTC program as an affordable housing delivery system. This includes but is not limited to understanding of basic land-use planning principals and/or community development with knowledge of rental housing markets.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, land use planning, real estate or related degree and/or equivalent, relevant work experience.
  • A few years’ experience in the occupational field performing a variety of work assignments with minimal supervision.
  • MS Office Suite, with proficiency in MS Excel
  • Valid Driver's License

 

The ideal candidate would also have experience with LIHTC policies and procedures in Virginia.

 

This role will report to our Innsbrook office in Glen Allen, VA
